BEML gets 15-truck order from Coal India

BEML supplies trucks to state-owned Coal India

BEML, formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited, will deliverseven BH150E 136tonne andeight BH205E 186 tonnetrucks under a trial andsale deal along with an eight-year spare parts contract.

Coal India will deploy the vehicles at the subsidiary-runGevra, Amlohri andNigahi projects.

The trucks are being manufactured at BEML's Mysore complex in Karnataka state.

The company said the products addressed agrowing demand for higher capacity equipment in India's mining industry, which has been dominated by 100t-class trucks as well as tipper trucks.

BEML said: "These trucks have eco-friendly emissions certificate engines with electronic fuel management system to deliver maximum power. Its wide body design, higher metric capacity and low body weight ensures high stability and productivity. A state-of-the-art AC drive system have been engineered to provide exceptional road performance with reduced maintenance."

Both the BH150E andBH205E trucks are fitted withWabtec AC electric drive systems.
